Knowing your items value.
Knowing your items value is especially important to your success because like brick and mortar businesses you too will want to know what your profit is going to be and there are many options to choose from between paid services and free, let’s start with the free research tools to help you save money.
eBay
Go into eBay and follow these simple steps

Click on the advanced tab next to the search button. I have high lighted it yellow so you can see it.
The image below is what you will see when you click on the advanced button.
Type in the product you are searching for select a category if you would like put a tick in the box beside completed listings I circled it red at the bottom of the picture and click search. I searched for xbox360 games.
Here is a small portion of what came up, now you can see that there is 4 and only 3 of them sold, now you will know what you could get for your item.
As you can see the buy it now didn’t work for that buyer. But as you can see you are looking at how many bids they got, postage cost and what time it finished.
We have seen your first free tool that you can use and yes this is time consuming but as most of you will agree you get what you pay for or not pay for.
Moving on and we can see that eBay pulse is another free tool.

This is what eBay pulse looks like as you can see it shows you the top 10 popular searches now you can select a category and see what the top 10 popular searches are in that category. Now you can dig a little bit and find items you might be interested in selling or what you have to sell.
